After the death of Abia State Labour Party chairman Zachary Maduka, the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) demanded a full forensic inquiry into the killing.
The LP chieftain was shot and killed on Wednesday in his home in Uturu, Isuikwuato Local Government Area, according to BANKPAWA
COSEYL President General Goodluck Ibem released a statement condemning the incident as “wicked and barbaric” in response to the news.
The group petitioned the state’s top cop, saying,
Kenechukwu Onwuemelie to move quickly to identify and apprehend Maduka’s killers.
The whole statement goes as follows: “We find the brutal murder and beheading of Zachary by his as-yet-unidentified perpetrators to be evil, barbarous, and diabolical in the strongest possible terms.
Disappointingly, a man who dedicated so much time and energy to improving his neighborhood was brutally murdered. Oh, no!
The youth of Uturu and the nearby village of Ezieke Akpukpa are being urged to join the police and other security forces in their hunt for those responsible for this heinous act of evil.
Abia State’s top cop, CP Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, needs to be on his A-game to track down the evildoers responsible for this atrocity. These criminals have profaned the land and need to be apprehended so they can face the full force of the law.
