Adams Oshiomhole, who represents Edo North in the Senate, has called Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki a friend despite their political disagreements.
The former State Governor makes it clear that he and Obaseki are on good terms in his goodwill speech at the ongoing 2023 Alaghodaro Summit in Benin City.
We must not convey the appearance that disagreements in viewpoint lead to hostilities, no matter what others may say.
I have great respect for the Governor’s Office and the Governor himself, having served in that role myself.
The APC leader made the following statement:
It says a lot that all the civilian governors of the state who were elected are here today. We are all members of different political parties, yet even so, we don’t add up to Edo State.
This means that we can disagree on how to best serve the people of the state that should be the greatest in Nigeria politically, while still knowing that we have each other’s backs no matter what.
Followers pay attention to what their leaders say. Ideology is what makes a democracy; even if our goals are the same, our methods may be different; this should not be a cause for conflict.
I wanted everyone to know that Godwin is a good friend of mine. Whatever the case may be, Oshiomhole emphasized the need of treating one another with kindness and unity within one’s own followers.
