The candidate of the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC), Elder Leke Abejide, has been criticized by a prominent member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Hon. Mouktar Atimah, for making false and misleading remarks in the run-up to the governorship election on November 11.
In a statement emailed to BANKPAWA on Tuesday, Atimah said that the ADC governorship candidate, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, had been spreading false information on Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, the APC candidate for Kogi State governor.
In response to a claim that Abejide made about Governor Bello wanting his kinsman to succeed him in office during one of his campaign tours, he said that the ADC candidate is being “economical with the truth” and should stop spreading falsehood in order to gain undeserved favor with voters.
Claims that Bello favors his kin were also debunked by his statement that Bello is from the Agassa/Ahache ward of Okene 1 State Constituency and that Ododo is from the Uporo/Odenku ward of Okene II State Constituency.
