The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) won the “Nigeria GovTech Awards” for Best Federal MDA in Sustainable ICT Infrastructure, beating out other federal ministries, departments, and agencies in the process.
The 2023 Nigeria GovTech Awards were hosted in the International Conference Centre in Abuja, where the NYSC was honored. The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Y.D. Ahmed, was also honored, being named the “Distinguished Govtech Trailblazer.”
A nationwide online voting process was launched on radio, television, and print publications and overseen by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms in the Presidency. This method produced the nominees and winners.
The Director of NYSC’s ICT, Mrs. Christy Uba, conveyed Brig. Gen. Ahmed’s thanks for the awards, saying that they were “a clear endorsement and appreciation of the sustainable improvement in the IT services rendered by NYSC to its stakeholders and the general public.”
To further ensure that NYSC’s activities are carried out in accordance with global best practices, Ahmed stated that the organization would continue to make use of ICT tools through their deployment.
