For Sunday’s Premier League match against Manchester City, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta may use Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli in their starting lineup.
Martinelli has been out of action since he hurt his hamstring in the win over Everton last month.
Saka, for his part, left Tuesday’s Champions League loss to Lens for the Gunners on a stretcher.
Martinelli has missed Arsenal’s last six games due to injury, and it was feared that Saka would also be sidelined for a while.
The 22-year-old was declared fit to play against City at the Emirates on Sunday after an initial scan on Wednesday indicated that his latest knock was not a serious one.
In addition to Martinelli, who reportedly “accelerated his recovery” in the previous 48 hours and could make a late push to be included in the team, Saka reportedly took part in training in full on Saturday and emerged unhurt from the session.
