To keep an eye on midfielder Thomas Partey during the international break, Arsenal has dispatched physiotherapist Simon Murphy to Ghana’s training camp in the United States.
You may recall that Arsenal sent Murphy to Ghana in March to deal with an injury to Partey.
This 2023-24 season, Partey has been hobbled by a groin issue.
The 30-year-old had been out for four consecutive Premier League games before making his return in Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City.
After starting on the bench, Partey saw action in the game’s final 15 minutes.
The ex-Atletico Madrid player also missed Arsenal’s Carabao Cup and Champions League victories over PSV and Brentford, respectively.
Murphy has only recently recovered from his groin injury, but Arsenal has sent him to Ghana to play for the Black Stars anyhow.
On Sunday and Wednesday, the Black Stars will play international friendly against Mexico and the United States.
After the international break on October 21, Arsenal will travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in the Premier League. The Gunners will need Partey to be at full strength for this match.
