Mikel Arteta, the Gunners’ manager, has praised goalkeeper David Raya for making a smooth transition to Arsenal since the summer.
Keep in mind that Arsenal is obligated to buy Raya out of his loan from Brentford for £27 million next summer.
Arteta, however, thinks the Spain goalie is familiar with Arsenal’s style of play and has gotten along great with his teammates.
Arteta noted (via TBR) that Ozil is “very good around the place with his teammates” before Arsenal’s match against the Premier League winners at Emirates Stadium on Sunday night. Raya is an expert on all things London.
The method we play is known to him. That’s nothing new for him. He has an extraordinary grasp of the league.
Over the past few weeks, Raya has seemingly replaced Aaron Ramsdale as the starting goalkeeper.
In five games in all competitions, he has kept three clean sheets and allowed four goals for Arteta’s squad.
