According to reports, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta would rather have winger Pedro Neto from Wolves than striker Ivan Toney from Brentford if the transfer window reopens in January.
FootballTransfers (h/t CaughtOffside) reports that Arteta wants Neto to help relieve some of the pressure on Bukayo Saka.
According to the report, Arsenal has a tight transfer budget but would pay £40 million for the Portugal international.
Neto, a player for Wolves, is reportedly worth £70 million to the club.
Since joining Wolves from Serie A club Lazio in 2019, Neto has recorded 12 goals and 18 assists in 119 games.
The 23-year-old has played in eight games for Wolves, contributing one goal and five assists.
In the summer of 2027, his contract with the Wolves will end.
