Public hearings on measures to establish the Hisbah Commission and Information Technology Development Agency have been postponed by the Yobe State House of Assembly due to a two-day nationwide warning strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress.
This information was released to the media in a statement co-signed by the committee chairs, Hon. Yakubu Suleiman and Hon. Sadiq Yahaya.
The announcement announced a new date for the public hearings: Thursday, September 7th, 2023, at 11:00am, at the Assembly conference in Damaturu.
Prior to this, a one-day public hearing on measures for laws to establish the Hisbah Commission and Information Technology Development Agency in the state was set to be held by the Assembly’s standing committees on information and of justice, judiciary, and religious matters.
The NLC is now engaged in a statewide warning strike, thus the public hearings scheduled for Tuesday have been postponed to a later date.
