Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have opened transfer discussions with the Bundesliga champions, and midfielder Ryan Gravenberch prefers a move to Liverpool over Manchester United.
The transfer deadline for Gravenberch’s current club, Bayern Munich, is this coming Friday.
The Netherlands international has had trouble breaking into Thomas Tuchel’s starting lineup at Bayern Munich.
In 2017, Bayern signed the 21-year-old Dutch midfielder from Ajax for a transfer fee of €18.5 million (£16m).
Although both Liverpool and Manchester United have contacted Gravenberch’s agents this summer, neither team has officially made an offer to Bayern Munich.
But now, according to The Athletic’s sources, Liverpool is in talks with Bayern Munich about a transfer fee for Gravenberch’s signing.
It was also said that Bayern Munich would be willing to transfer Gravenberch permanently to Liverpool if they could find a suitable successor.
