British Hospital Fires and Deports Nigerian Nurse Who Prayed for Dying Patient

An elderly dying patient’s prayers led to the dismissal and deportation of a Nigerian healthcare worker in the United Kingdom.

According to a post on “X” made by a well-known Nigerian doctor named @drolufunmilayo, it is unethical for nurses in the UK to incorporate their religious beliefs into their work.

Even if a patient requests that a nurse pray for them, the nurse should advise the patient to consult a priest for religious services, according to him, because it goes against medical ethics to pray for patients.

According to Olufunmilayo, he wanted to warn Nigerian doctors moving to the UK not to pray for their patients, so he published the story.
