Posted by Robert Clarke, SAN, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has predicted that the Supreme Court will reject Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi’s appeal.
The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) upheld President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s election on Wednesday, but his opponents have pledged to go to the Supreme Court.
Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, who both finished below Tinubu, are contesting his victory.
Clarke, in an appearance on Channels Television on Sunday, pointed out that the Supreme Court has already ruled on all of the issues brought before the tribunal by Atiku and Obi.
“In my opinion, which, I feel, has been enriched by my prior experience in the administration of justice at the bar.
“I have every belief, and I truly believe, that the unanimous judgement of the Court of Appeal is unassailable, it is as fixed as you can fix something, and I can assure you if there is an appeal, I doubt that anything can come out of the appeal. Allow me to clarify something for us.
The Supreme Court of the Country has already ruled on all the legal issues that were submitted before the panel.
