While playing for the Tricky Trees against Brentford, Awoniyi suffered a groin injury.
The 26-year-old’s absence from action was predicted to last about a month.
The ex-Liverpool player didn’t make it back in time to play against Crystal Palace before the break for international duty.
The forward may, however, resume workouts soon.
Good things are happening for Taiwo. Cooper was quoted by nottinghampost.com as saying, “Let’s see how the next week goes, going into the game after Saturday.”
This season, Awoniyi has scored three goals for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
