Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, has said that Kevin De Bruyne may not play again until 2024.
De Bruyne suffered a hamstring injury during the Premier League match against Burnley and was therefore unable to play in the UEFA Super Cup victory against Sevilla the next night.
This is the same injury that sidelined him in the Champions League final back in June.
Surgery to fix the problem is in the works for the 32-year-old.
He’s looking at a four- to five-month wait.
Because of the injuries, we are not performing at our peak. We make certain adjustments, but the spirit is still there,” Guardiola said at a news conference on Friday.
