The Federation’s previous head of civil service, Malam Adamu Fika, has passed away at the age of 83.
Ali Gimba Fika, secretary of the Fika Emirate Council in Potiskum, Yobe State, released a statement announcing the death of the centenarian.
This assertion claims that “Mallam Adamu Fika, the Waziri of Fika, was a renowned and seasoned educationist and administrator, a native of Fika, Yobe State, born in 1933 in Fika, Yobe State.”
According to the statement, “Fika is the first and only Nigeria’s Head of Service to resign because he was not comfortable being at the helm of affairs when by his training, he perceived the civil service was being destroyed.”
The dead served as the head of the civil service for the entire federation in 1986 and as the permanent secretary for many federal ministries, including Internal Affairs, Commerce, and Communications.
According to information obtained by BANKPAWA, Fika passed away while en route from London to Kaduna late last night.
He was receiving treatment in a London hospital for a mystery illness.
Today, Wednesday, at 4:00 p.m., funeral prayers will be offered for him at the Sultan Bello Mosque in Kaduna.
