The assassination of Miss Deborah Modupe Atanda, a student at the Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), has been condemned by Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, the wife of the governor of Ekiti State.
She expressed her condolences to the victim’s loved ones and the university’s mourning community.
She characterized the murder as stunning in its severity, deeply upsetting, and totally unacceptable.
She believes that such violence has no place in an academic setting committed to the development of future leaders.
She stressed that a university’s role is to foster learning and intellectual discourse, not to serve as a place where the lives of tomorrow’s leaders are cut tragically short.
Oyebanji called with the security personnel to do everything in their power to find and punish those responsible for the horrible act.
