If Gareth Southgate decides to step down as national team head coach after Euro 2024, the Football Association (FA) is considering hiring Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola to fill the vacancy.
Southgate is reportedly planning to quit down after the World Cup.
Even if his contract is up in 2024, there is always hope that the 53-year-old will lead the Three Lions to the 2026 World Cup.
The FA is still considering Guardiola as a viable candidate.
The only problem is that his contract with City doesn’t expire until 2025.
Mauricio Pochettino, Eddie Howe, and Graham Potter were all considered for the position in the past, although the first two already have Premier League coaching responsibilities.
