Andy Cole, a former striker for Manchester United, has criticized Anthony Martial for his lack of goals despite playing on some good sides.
Martial joined Man United from AS Monaco in 2015, when he was still a teenager.
When he transferred to Old Trafford from the French Ligue 1 club, the then-teenager (at age 27) became the most expensive in British football history.
The Frenchman was hailed as a future superstar after scoring a historic goal in Man United’s 3-1 triumph over Liverpool in his debut.
Injuries and erratic play have prevented Martial from living up to the lofty expectations set for him upon his debut at Manchester United.
On the other hand, Cole thinks Martial is yet to show his worth at Man United.
Martial has played for Manchester United for eight years, although he has not yet scored one hundred goals. I can’t believe it. He has been a pivotal member of various great Manchester United teams during his time there. Cole bragged to Betfred about how he scored 17 goals in a league game.
To put it bluntly, “He’s had more than enough time and opportunity to show United just how good he is and unfortunately has not been able to do so.”
In 301 games for Man United throughout all competitions over the course of eight years, Martial has scored 88 goals.
