If I don’t start two players from Chelsea’s roster against Arsenal, the owner will kill me, says Pochettino

As a joke, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino said the club’s owners would “kill him” if he benched two starters for Sunday’s match against Arsenal.

The Blues blew a two-goal lead against the Gunners on Saturday night at Stamford Bridge.

Pochettino named a strong team despite missing several key players due to injury, notably the £222 million duo of Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez.

Caicedo and Fernandez, who had been on international service, both played the whole 90 minutes despite getting back late.

It’s absurd for players to fly back from South America on a Wednesday and play on a Saturday,” Pochettino added.

“But if I say “OK, I’m going to give them a rest,” you [the media] will destroy me, for sure if they don’t play, and the owner, too!

After playing two games in the United States, Caceido and Enzo returned here today looking tired. However, they serve as vital bandages for us.
