On Saturday, Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku announced that he will be leaving the club for AS Roma during the upcoming summer transfer window.
As his son made his debut for Anderlecht in a youth event in Boom, Antwerp province, Lukaku spoke to the Belgian media outlet Het Laatste Nieuws.
The ex-Manchester United and Everton player announced on Saturday that he will be flying to Rome on Sunday to officially sign with AS Roma.
“I’m a little anxious… “I’m flying to Rome tomorrow to sign,” Lukaku stated.
As Lukaku spoke, negotiations between his current club Chelsea and the Giallorossi were taking place in London.
Last year, the Belgian played on loan for Inter Milan.
Mauricio Pochettino, manager of Chelsea, does not include him in his plans for the upcoming season.
