Andre Onana, goalkeeper for Manchester United, has decided to end his international retirement and return to playing for Cameroon.
Onana released a statement on Monday confirming the news.
For their forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, the 27-year-old will once again be a part of the Indomitable Lions’ team.
Onana departed the national team camp at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar due to a disagreement with head coach Rigobert Song regarding strategy.
Soon after, he declared his retirement from playing for his country’s national team.
Onana was said to be on the fence about returning to international service, despite an olive branch being extended in recent weeks.
But he has decided to heed the call and will likely start next week when we play Burundi.
