Toni Kroos, a midfielder for Real Madrid, has said that he would have agreed to a pay cut if the club had requested, despite rumors that he could leave Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
Kroos was set to become a free agent at the end of the season.
Despite rumors of his retirement, the German decided to sign another year with the Spanish club and stay in Madrid.
The player’s salary has reportedly remained unchanged. It appears, though, that Kroos would have agreed to a lower salary had Madrid requested one.
It is not about money when you are a Madridista, Kroos remarked (via Twitter’s @MadridXtra): “If I have to lower my salary, I would do it without any problem.”
