The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) is being examined in connection with the death of Nigerian artist Mohbad, according to Idowu Owohunwa, Commissioner of Police for the State of Lagos.

On Friday, during a live press briefing on X (previously Twitter), which was observed by BANKPAWA, the Commissioner of Police revealed this revelation.

The late musician had in a video that went viral following his death claimed he was arrested by law enforcement agents.

They handed me a white bottle with water in it. I was accused of drug use. They just gave it to me, and no one else drank it. They told me to go home and wait, and they sent the others away.

They slammed a revolver down on my head, too. I rescued Zino in that video, but Zino betrayed me, he claimed.

On Friday, October 6th, the Commissioner of Police gave an update on the inquiry into Mohbad’s unexpected death, saying, “The NDLEA is also being investigated to see if they are complicit based on his video during the arrest.”
