Oyo State Governor Makinde Appoints Additional Aids

Appointments of Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, and Board Chairmen to various portfolios, ministries, departments, and agencies have been approved by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.

Segun Ogunwuyi, the governor’s chief of staff, disclosed this information in a letter.

Mr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the governor’s chief press secretary, made the letter accessible to BANKPAWA.

Mr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, is to merge his responsibilities as the Special Adviser to the Governor on media with his present position, according to a letter dated November 29, 2023.

In his letter, Makinde hoped that the newly appointed officials would serve the state with honor and commitment.

The governor named several individuals, including Oloye Suraj Abiodun, Chair of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, and Dr. Gbola Adetunji, Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for the Control of AIDS (OYSACA).

Furthermore, there are the following individuals: Alhaji Murtala Ahmad, who serves as a Special Assistant (Community Relations) I for the Arewa Community; Nwosu Innocent, who is a Senior Special Assistant (Community Relations) 2 for the Igbo Community; Saka Moshood Olawale, who is a Senior Special Assistant (OYSIEC); Hon. Yemi Taiwo, who is the Chairman of the Oyo State Library Board; and Hon. Rauf Adekunle, who is the Chairman of the Oyo State Pension Board.

Hon. Atilola M.O. was appointed as Chairman of the Oyo State Scholarship Board; Mr. Rahman Abiodun Abdulrahim was named Chairman of the Education Trust Fund; Hon. Akinsete Olakunle was named Special Adviser on Housing and Urban Development; and Hon. Simeon Oyeleke was named Special Adviser on Budget and Economic Planning; all of these appointments were announced in the governor’s letter.

And the remainder, letter-by-letter, are Special Advisors on Legislative Matters: Hon. Samuel Ademola Adejumobi and Mrs. Aderonke Adedayo, and General Intervention and Donor Agencies: Representatives from the following organizations will be present: Alhaji Omokunmi Mustapha, Special Advisor on Political Matters; Hon. Abideen Tokunbo Adeaga, Director General of the Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency; Hon. Mufutau Ogunremi, Senior Special Assistant on Sustainable Development Goals; and Hon. Ramota Agberemi Dabo, Senior Special Assistant on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
