The forthcoming Premier League match between Arsenal and Chelsea may come down to either Declan Rice or Enzo Fernandez, according to former Scotland international Pat Nevin.
Former Chelsea player Nevin agrees that Arsenal will present the season’s biggest challenge for Mauricio Pochettino and the Spurs.
On Saturday night, Stamford Bridge will host a London derby between Chelsea and Arsenal in the Premier League.
Nevin told BBC Sport, “This is the best test so far for Mauricio Pochettino’s new Blues against a bona fide elite side. Chelsea, while being a youthful and wealthy squad, has not won as many games as they would have liked, needed, or expected.
Arsenal, meantime, is in fine form; they’re tied for first place in the league and they just upset the defending champions, Manchester City. The fact that in their last eight games with Chelsea, they have only lost once and drawn once should give them hope.
He continued, “I am looking forward to seeing the game and seeing how Chelsea old guys Kai Havertz and Jorginho cope, but the important battle should be for central midfield supremacy.
They may not always be competing head-to-head, but “whoever shines brightest between Declan Rice and Enzo Fernandez could help control and decide the game.”
