To be held in January 2023 in Cote d’Ivoire, the Africa Cup of Nations will be led by the 63-year-old.
Former coach of Saudi Arabia and Venezuela said his players urged him to stay in order to win the tournament.
“The players pushed me to stay because they believe we can win (the AFCON),” he said to Sky Sports.
We’re confident in our ability to prevail. That’s common knowledge among the players. They’ve got the same fire and faith as the rest of us, and they’re ready to fight for the Super Eagles.
Group A consists of hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau, as well as the Super Eagles.
