Maurizio Pochettino, manager of Chelsea, has explained to the media why Cole Palmer decided to leave Manchester City and sign with the Blues.
On transfer deadline day, the 21-year-old left the Etihad for Stamford Bridge.
He joined the Blues in a move valued over £40 million and is likely to make his debut against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
The Argentine told reporters on Friday before the game, “He decided to come because he expects to play maybe more and be important here,” but he stressed that playing time is not the most crucial factor.
When asked why he chose Chelsea, Pochettino said, “He decided to come because Chelsea is a project for him, to improve his game, and to be more involved in every single game.”
The star of the England under-21 squad has been praised for his talent and promise.
