Questions for Moreno The departure of a Chelsea star from Stamford Bridge

Posted by

Alejandro Moreno, a former forward for the LA Galaxy, has cast doubt on Romelu Lukaku’s choice to leave Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

You may recall that Lukaku loaned out to AS Roma from Chelsea for the 2023–24 season.

In the summer of the 2021/22 season, Chelsea paid £97.5 million to get the 30-year-old back from Inter Milan.

However, everything has gone horribly wrong for the Belgian international because he is not in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans for the upcoming season.

Since Jose Mourinho was once his manager, he was loaned to Roma.

Moreno, however, thinks Lukaku should not have left Chelsea for the Serie A club.

Moreno told ESPN FC (via Football365), “It just feels like his career could have been so much more, and we just find now reasons to talk about him because of failures, not because of achievements.”

“And whether he is the biggest loser in the transfer window or not, I don’t know, but what we do know is that he has not landed in the best spot,” the analyst continued. “And again, this doesn’t make us think of him as trending in the right direction.”
