The suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, has been accused of financial mismanagement, which led to his arrest, as reported by Business Day.
Deputy Governor Obiora is in charge of economic policy at the central bank.
His arrest follows an investigation into CBN led by Godwin Emefiele.
Emefiele has been in DSS detention since June 11, 2023, a day after President Bola Tinubu withdrew him from office, as previously reported by BANKPAWA
The investigation of the conduct of the central bank under Emefiele was given to Jim Obazee, a special investigator appointed by Tinubu in July.
Dr. Peter Afunanya, the DSS spokesperson, and Dr. Isa Abdulmumin, the CBN spokesperson, have not yet responded to BANKPAWA request for comment.
