Rio Ferdinand, a legend with Manchester United, has drawn parallels between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Both Ronaldo and Messi are considered two of the best footballers of all time.
Over 800 goals have been scored by both attackers at club and international levels, and they have earned a plethora of individual and team awards.
Despite being well past the age of 30, they are still going strong.
Messi is with MLS’s Inter Miami, while Ronaldo is with the powerhouse Al-Nassr of the Saudi Pro League.
Ferdinand made this comment on the EAFC 24 This or That segment: “Oh wow Ronaldo’s points are significantly smaller than Messi.
“In my opinion, the gap is far wider than it needs to be. Based on these numbers, Messi is the clear choice. “Messi would be on my team if I were making the lineup,” he declared.
Yes, Messi has been fantastic—he’s been on fire—but he still can’t compete with Cristiano. If I could only watch one game, the Cup Final, it would be a Cristiano Ronaldo game.
