The new Deputy Senate Leader and Chief Whip was introduced by the Senate on Wednesday.
Senator Oyelola Ashiru of Kwara South was elected as the next Deputy Senate Leader by his colleagues in the Upper Legislative Chamber.
Nwebonyi Peter Onyeka, a senator from Ebonyi North, was also recently appointed as the Senate’s new Chief Whip.
Ashiru has taken over as Senate Chief Whip from Ebonyi State’s former governor, Dave Umahi.
Before President Bola Tinubu named him Minister of Works, Umahi served as Chief Whip.
