The new Soun of Ogbomoso is Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye.

On Friday morning, BANKPAWA learned that he had been sworn in.

Despite an order from the Oyo State High Court prohibiting the state governor and others from presenting Olaoye with the instrument of office, the newspaper BANKPAWA reported that he would be installed shortly.

On Thursday, the court led by Justice K.A Adedokun issued an order prohibiting Olaoye from parading, representing, or presenting himself as the candidate for any ceremony for the issuance of a certificate of installation, or wearing any regalia resembling that of the occupant of the stool of Soun of Ogbomoso Chieftaincy, until the mandatory injunction already filed before the court is heard and finally determined.

The kingmakers, led by Areago of Ogbomoso High Chief Sobalaje Otolorin, installed Olaoye instead at Abata in Ogbomosjo.

While carrying out the ceremony, the kingmakers insisted that no court order had been issued blocking the installation of Olaoye as Soun of Ogbomoso.
