The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the State Specialist Hospital in Ikere-Ekiti, Dr. Olaolu Olubiyi, has been placed on administrative leave as the Ekiti State Government investigates allegations of serious misconduct made against him.
Dr. Akinsipe Catherine Iyabo, Consultant, Obstetrics and Gynecology (O&G), will assume the responsibilities of the suspended CMD immediately.
According to a statement released to the press in Ado-Ekiti by the State Ministry of Health and Human Services, Olubiyi was suspended for violating Ekiti Public Service Rules 030301(ii) and 030402(x) after a serious case of gross misconduct was reported against him.
In accordance with the requirements of the State Public Service Rules, the statement said the suspended CMD has been barred from performing his official duties awaiting the outcome of an investigation.
Along with reiterating Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s zero tolerance for violations of the Code of Conduct for Public Officers, the statement emphasized the government’s commitment to rewarding exceptional performance, diligence, and adherence to tasks.
