Taraba NULGE votes for Burba as their next chairman

A new chairman has emerged to end the infighting in the Taraba State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE.

At a meeting of the State Executive Council on Wednesday in Jalingo, members of the union representing the state’s three senatorial districts unanimously approved Yakubu Tanko Burba as the chairman.

The BANKPAWA writes that the union recently sounded the alarm about rumors that some government officials were plotting to appoint a candidate that was unpopular as the union’s head.

The union was in disarray after Governor Agbu Kefas appointed the former chairman to a commission position.

Burba, in his acceptance speech, promised to maintain an open door policy.

He pleaded with combative individuals to put aside their differences and work together for the good of the whole.
