Victor Osimhen has been backed by Nigeria’s head coach Jose Peseiro, who thinks he might one day win the Ballon d’Or.
Osimhen is one of 30 candidates for the men’s Ballon d’Or in 2023.
Considering the caliber of the other players nominated, it’s unlikely that the 24-year-old will win the prize this year. Nonetheless, Peseiro is certain that he will eventually come out on top.
The future is bright for him (Osimhen) to win the Ballon d’Or. Peseiro claimed as much in an interview with Italian magazine II Mattino.
“He scores a lot and has unique qualities compared to other players at the top right now.”
The forward is also among the finalists for the FIFA Best Men’s Player award.
