To help soften the blow of the fuel subsidy cut, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has begun distributing palliatives to the state’s population.
The BANKPAWA stated that in an effort to alleviate the suffering of its citizens, the government of Ogun State has received 30,000 sacks of rice from the Federal Government.
While kicking off the distribution in Abeokuta, Governor Abiodun said that the 50-kilogram bags of rice will be re-bagged into 10-kilogram bags.
According to Abiodun, this will allow the state administration to communicate with 300,000 households over 5,400 voting locations.
According to him, his deputy Noimot Salako-Oyedele will be using polling units rather than wards to ensure fair allocation on the distribution committee.
He said President Bola Tinubu’s initiative to reduce hunger in Nigeria was commendable.
Abiodun told the people of Ogun that the relief supplies would be delivered to those who needed them, regardless of their affiliation with a political party.
