The reasons why Wilfred Ndidi did not play for Leicester City against Sunderland in the Sky Bet Championship have been outlined by manager Enzo Maresca.
Ndidi was surprisingly left off the team that won Tuesday’s King Power Stadium match against the Black Cats by a score of 1-0.
Maresca stated that the Nigerian international was benched because of a lack of game preparation.
Is Yunus okay? On Saturday, he might be able to join us. Wilf needs a few days to rest, and we don’t want to put him in danger so that he can get some rest.
After the game, Maresca commented, “Wilf could play (on Saturday), we’ll see.”
The Foxes’ 26-year-old striker has only managed one goal in 12 league games this year.
The current leaders of the Championship are Leicester City, who are vying for promotion to the Premier League this year.
