An unnamed source has told BANKPAWA that unknown assailants opened fire on Oba Adeyemi and his driver while they were in Ilesa town.
According to reports, the Alamo was attacked by the shooters just after celebrating his 18th coronation anniversary in the historic town on Saturday.
It was determined that he had been shot at least once.
The source added that the king and his chauffeur were rescued and sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Public Relations Officer Yemisi Opalola for the Osun State Police Command responded to the shooting news by saying an investigation into the event was underway.
Opalola promised that justice will be served.
