The Plateau government’s rationale for decongesting Jos City Centre

A plan to alleviate traffic congestion in Jos City and the surrounding area has been unveiled by the Plateau State Government.

The state government made notice of the fact that this would enhance the safety of people and their possessions in the city.

This was announced by Samuel Jatau, Secretary to the State Government, during an inspection of route amenities for the intra-city mass transit vehicles that the government has acquired and would shortly start operating.

According to BANKPAWA, the state government of Jos bought 14 digitalized 80-seater buses from Germany and they arrived last week.

On Wednesday, Jatau briefed journalists that the initiative’s goal is to transform Plateau state into an organized intra-city transport system. This would not only help the people overcome their current challenges, but it would also streamline the process.

Jatau made it clear that they were representing Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, who is His Excellency.

The transportation sector is one of the most important areas where people are experiencing hardship; food prices are high, and transportation costs are substantial as well.

He stressed the significance of swiftly beginning the project in order to alleviate the hardship experienced by his people.
