The meeting between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and King Charles III of England was fruitful, according to Tinubu, who noted that it strengthened the relationship between Nigeria and the UK.
On Thursday, Tinubu posted a message on his official X account announcing this.
His tweet read:
A fervent climate activist and Head of the Commonwealth, His Majesty King Charles III of England, and I had a fruitful discussion.
“I am hopeful about the positive impact our joint efforts will have on our planet’s future as we look forward to setting an equitable global standard for environmental stewardship at #COP28. The meeting was a significant step in strengthening the partnership between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.”
Earlier this week, Tinubu left Abuja for Dubai, UAE, to participate in the COP28 Climate Summit.
The Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) is the official name of the meeting.
Following the summit, Tinubu is anticipated to make his way back to Abuja.
