Six people were hurt in Monday’s explosion at the Sandaji Filling Station in Lafia, Nasarawa State, after a fuel tanker caught fire.
At approximately noon, a tanker carrying fuel to a gas station on Jos Road Lafia caught fire.
Pump attendant Comfort Igwe said the explosion happened when the ship was unloading its cargo.
According to her, the fire was put out thanks to the efforts of the fire department, the Red Cross, the police, and other security organizations.
An eyewitness reported that the explosion at the gas station caused millions of dollars worth of damage.
There were injuries, she said, and people from the gas station and the Nasarawa State Fire Service were sent to the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital in Lafia for treatment.
Nasarawa State Fire Service Acting Director Mr. Ombugu Joshua said the command had not yet determined the source of the fire.
