The late Afrobeat artist Mohbad’s father, Mr. Joseph Aloba, disapproves of the decision to recover his son’s body from police custody so that he can have a proper burial.
Remember that several famous people, including Bella Shmurda and Tonto Dikeh, started the petition to have the deceased singer’s body released from the morgue and given a proper burial?
Two months after police exhumed Mohbad for an investigation, the idea emerged.
Mohbad’s father recently made a video condemning such behavior and arguing that he should be given the power to authorize it.
He continued by emphasizing the need for a DNA test to determine Liam Light’s paternity, for which samples of his son’s bodily fluids would be necessary.
To quote him:
I’ve heard that perhaps some people wish to go and transport Mohbad’s remains. This child was my son when he was alive, and even though he is no longer with us, he still has my name. Nobody should go and carry Mohbad’s body from there. My approval is required for whatever you wish to accomplish. Get the law on the side of Mohbad; what will be left of him once he is buried? First, let justice be done; we need the DNA.
