According to President Bola Tinubu, Africa’s stances on economic and social-political issues with the rest of the world can be reached through the African Union (AU).

The president made the statement during a meeting with Azali Assoumani, President of the Union of Comoros and current Chairperson of the African Union, on Monday in New York.

Acceptance of freedom and constitutional order is the only path to progress and prosperity. It’s a must-have feature of eco-friendly progress.

”We applaud the AU’s efforts to mediate peace talks between the opposing parties in Sudan and bring calm to the Sahel region. It would be a major success to bring peace to Sudan. I value the work you did in Burkina Faso and how well we worked together in Niger.

You can reach me at any moment to talk about the security of African Union countries. The black race needs peace and prosperity.

We have entered our time. We need peace if Africa is going to make the most of the current development prospects. We need to create a template for sustained progress.

You can count on Nigeria to work with you. However, we must progress past people with a myopic and evil outlook on Africa. We are not afraid of conflict but would rather exercise restraint at this moment, the President stated.

Assoumani stated that the AU is not in competition with Nigeria but rather strives to complement its efforts to bring peace and prosperity to Africa.

“We must address the unconstitutional struggle for control on the African continent.

We have informed China and Russia that they must do their part to prevent coups in these nations before any sort of developmental partnership can be considered in countries like these.

“We appreciate your stand on these matters,” the AU Chair remarked.

In his capacity as AU Chairperson, the President of the Union of Comoros stated that his country was looking to Nigeria for guidance on how to sustainably enhance diversity management, the democratic process, and economic growth.

“We want to turn our country into an emerging economy and we need the experience of Nigeria as we seek your cooperation to conduct an election that will win us respect from the international community and allow us to develop at the right speed and quality,” he added.

Tinubu also met with Hissein Brahim Taha, the Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and reaffirmed the Islamic world’s crucial role in ensuring Africa’s and the world’s continued peace and development.

The work we’re doing in the Sahel is crucial. It’s clear that we need to ramp up our efforts. Telling our Muslim brothers who are fighting to seize power is essential. Allah’s will must be honored, no matter what.

”I’m forward to work together with you. Our region is grateful for the work you and Islamic banks have done to promote agricultural development and ensure food safety.

I am committed to collaborating with you to improve the lives of Nigerians and Africans, the President assured the nation’s leader.

The head of the 57-nation cooperation body commended the Nigerian president for his efforts to unite the continent’s leaders in agreement.

There needs to be widespread agreement on the importance of peace, particularly among our member states.

With you at the helm of ECOWAS, we had high hopes that the situation in the Sahel region would improve once you were elected chairman.

“We were also happy about your election as President of Nigeria and we see the changes,” the OIC chief said.

Tinubu has been invited by the OIC Secretary-General to attend the upcoming OIC Heads of State Summit. (NAN)
