Nigeria will overcome its economic challenges, according to Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, speaker of the House of Representatives.

On Sunday, Nigeria will celebrate its 63rd independence anniversary, and the Speaker’s words come at a fitting time.

This was announced on Saturday by Speaker of the House Media Advisor Musa Abdullahi Krishi.

The Speaker urged his or her fellow countrymen to maintain optimism despite the dire predictions of some, adding that they would soon be proven wrong.

The Speaker assured the audience that Nigeria will once again be a great nation despite the country’s current economic woes, including high inflation, a depreciating currency, an energy crisis, and so on.

Abbas urged unions affiliated with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trades Union Congress (TUC) to abandon plans to launch a statewide strike on Tuesday over welfare problems.

He argued that a countrywide indefinite strike would not help the issue and would only make things worse.

He advocated on the labor unions to negotiate with the federal government and call off the strike to find a peaceful solution.
