This was announced on Sunday in Abuja by Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, who serves as the Director of Defence Media Operations.
A total of 63 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists and their families surrendered to forces across all theaters of action, and Buba said the troops freed 10 kidnapped hostages as well.
He further claimed that Operation HADIN KAI forces had undertaken battle patrols in the North East, namely in the Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe and the Bama and Chibok local government areas of Borno.
Buba reported that the forces had found three motorcycles, 181 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, four magazines, and 12 AK47 weapons, two locally built rifles, and three dane guns.
He also said that the soldiers had rescued five hostages and killed 13 terrorists.
He claimed that this week, Operation Safe Haven troops in the North Central region captured five suspects, 145 stolen cows, and weapons and ammo.
According to him, two IPOB/ESN criminals were apprehended by Operation Whirl Stroke troops patrolling the Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue on October 1.
It was the home of a prominent herbalist, he said, but the police apprehended the culprits there.
The troops also found a body armor and some bulletproof vests, he said.
Troops “arrested three suspects and recovered two locally fabricated rifles, 10 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, five cutlasses, one body armour, one bulletproof vest, and a jackknife.”
