According to reports, the twenty Ogun State LGCs split the sum of N5,233,379,834.30 in August.
At its August meeting in the Conference Hall of the Oba’s Complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the Ogun State Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) announced this distribution.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Rotimi Akinlesi, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, commended the local government chairmen for their work over the past two years and urged them to continue their development efforts.
According to a statement released by Emmanuel Ojo, an aide to Governor Dapo Abiodun, “N5,233,379,834.30 from Statutory Revenue, Value Added Tax (VAT), Exchange Difference, and Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) accrued to the 20 local government areas in the state for August 2023.” These funds came from the State Treasury’s Permanent Secretary and Accountant-General, Babatunde Aregbesola.
First-line charges of N5,143,138,652.75 will be used to cover things like pensions, healthcare for retirees, and the salaries of government workers at the state and municipal levels.
