The former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, has claimed that he was powerless to influence policymaking while in office.

United Evangelical Church, Lagos Township Superintendency hosted a special Thanksgiving/Welcome Service in Udom’s honor on Sunday, and he used the opportunity to express his regrets from his time as governor.

Despite his many achievements as governor, he expressed disappointment about his lack of influence on policymaking, saying that he had a plan before he took office.

According to him:

“Not being able to influence policy is my sole regret. Believe me when I say that our state would have advanced far further if I had been in charge of policymaking. Still, I give God the glory for allowing us to follow our plan with His assistance.
