During clearance operations around the villages of Maidaro, Ngade, Ahla, and Rikau in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, the Nigerian Army claims to have neutralized three terrorists.
The spokesman of the 1st Division, Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Lt.-Col. Musa Yahaya, revealed on Monday that the terrorists attempted to flee upon sighting the forces, but two of them were killed, while the rest managed to escape with bullet wounds.
The criminals left a motorcycle behind, and the military retrieved an AK-47.
The army also carried out an operation in the Chikun Local Government Area of the state, specifically in the Tantatu and Antena regions. They were able to eliminate one terrorist threat while also recovering two cell phones, one AK-47, and seven 7.62mm (special) rounds of ammunition.
Maj. Gen. Valentine Okoro, Force Commander of “Operation Whirl Punch” and General Officer Commanding the 1st Division of the Nigerian Army, praised the soldiers’ efforts and urged them to keep up the good work until all terrorists and criminals within the Division’s area of responsibility have been eliminated.
He also urged the people of Kaduna State to keep providing the army and other security services with reliable intelligence reports.
