Carlo Ancelotti, manager of Real Madrid, has stated that if not for Sergio Ramos, he would have lost his position.
Los Blancos will meet the Sevilla defender on Saturday in LaLiga, and Ancelotti is getting them ready.
During the first Italian stint at Madrid, from 2013 to 2015, Ramos was an integral part of the team.
In the 2014 Champions League final against Atletico Madrid, the 93rd-minute equalizer was scored by the defender.
“I’d love to see [Ramos] and say hello,” Ancelotti remarked at a news conference on Friday. I love all the players I’ve ever had, but I love him more than anyone else.
“Sergio Ramos is the reason I’m still alive today. I doubt I would still be alive if he hadn’t won the [Champions League] with the game-winning goal. Everyone here loves him very much for that and for everything else he’s done for the club. He’ll do OK in the game. If he scores, we can only hope he doesn’t go crazy celebrating.
