When the Abuja Light Rail commences operations, the Transport Secretariat of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) will ensure citizens’ safety.

After reviewing the ongoing restoration of the metro rail line project in Abuja on Wednesday, Secretariat Secretary Mr. Ubokutom Nyah offered the assurance.

During a meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima, the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation Ltd. (CCECC) vowed to finish the Abuja Rail Mass Transit (ARMT) system by May 2024.

According to Nyah, the secretariat’s emphasis on security, affordability, and adaptability is reflected in the services it provides.

He continued by saying that the safety of the train lines was of utmost importance and that plans had been made to ensure this.

He was optimistic that the commercial operation of the Abuja light rail will start sooner than projected.

The vandalized sections of the rails have been repaired, the secretary reported, and communication wires are currently being imported.

We anticipate the completion date of September to arrive sooner than that. The FCT locals are in for a pleasant and surprising experience.

I can say with absolute certainty that the vandalized sections of the rail tracks have been finished, since we have completed more than 60% of the tracks so far.

I’ve been told that the communication wires have arrived at the port, and that cleaning operations are currently underway.

As a result of “what we have seen today is a great job,” he predicted that the ARMT might be finished sooner than projected.
